We encounter God in an intimate relationship through daily prayer, the sacraments and the Scriptures.
Hey! My name is Gabe. My heart was changed by Jesus Christ in college. Now, I get to pass it forward.
For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also” – Matthew 6:21
I grew up in small-town Nebraska. Then I moved to the University of Nebraska – Lincoln for my undergraduate degree in Business Management.
I joined Greek life, did my best to keep God as a part of my life, and lived a “good” life.
But everything changed when a FOCUS missionary named Ben shared the Crux of the Gospel message over lunch and invited me to take a leap of faith:
“Surrender can feel like you’re stepping off the edge into oblivion, but I am asking you to put Jesus ahead of everything else; to place Him at the center of your life.“
He challenged me to stop backpedaling away from life’s problems and instead turn around and walk toward God.
Although his reasons made sense, I was scared that if I surrendered to God, I’d never have fun again. So I went to the chapel and prayed through some tears,
“God, I don’t believe this whole Jesus-thing is worth it. But I want more from life.”
I wish I could say that I immediately placed God at the center of my life, but it took some more nudging. Thankfully, I had someone to walk me through the journey.
He showed me how to:
During my Junior year of college, Christ called me to become a FOCUS missionary. Now, I have the privilege of walking with college men as they grow in intimacy with Christ, step off the edge of surrender, and teach other men to do the same.
Thank you!
I cannot be on this mission alone. It is through spiritual and financial support from mission partners like you that the love of Christ can be shared with those who most need to hear it. This is where you come in! If you are interested in learning about how you can join me on mission, I’d love to talk with you!

“Some give by going to the missions. Others go by giving to the missions. Without both, there are no missions.” -Saint John Paul II
We encounter God in an intimate relationship through daily prayer, the sacraments and the Scriptures.
By building genuine friendships, we meet students on a deeper level.
We teach students how to share the gospel, who in turn teach other students how to pass it on.
