We encounter God in an intimate relationship through daily prayer, the sacraments and the Scriptures.
Hi there! We are Grant and Mikayla Smith. We celebrated our wedding in May of 2024, and are excited to now spend the rest of our lives serving the Lord together! Thank you for joining our new family in this mission!
We are blessed to have the opportunity to serve at Boise State University in Idaho! Boise State is home to a vibrant culture of students who pride themselves on thinking differently – hence, their blue football field. In the university’s own words, “It’s about breaking norms, blazing new trails and imagining the possibilities of what could be.” Our goal is to channel the ambitious and innovative culture of Boise State to inspire and guide students towards a deeper relationship with Christ, ultimately turning disciples into disciple-makers who are convicted by Jesus’ Great Commission to make disciples of all nations! Boise State students yearn for more in life; our hope is to show them the abundant life that comes from knowing and following Christ Jesus.

When we answered Jesus’ call to become FOCUS missionaries, we made the decision to rely on the spiritual and financial support of a team of mission partners to help us accomplish this mission. We deeply believe that the Lord has given us our vocation as husband and wife in order for our love to reflect the light of God’s love upon those we meet, and we know that the means to make this mission a reality come from the generous sacrifices of our mission partners. As Mother Teresa said, “Some give by going, and some go by giving. Without both, the mission does not exist.” Our mission partners aren’t simply giving; it’s a spiritual reality that they’re on mission with us, as their role is just as vital as ours!
If you are interested in joining this support team, we would love to share more about our journey and mission with you! Please don’t hesitate to reach out to us by phone, text (657-222-5295), or email ([email protected]) and we can schedule an appointment. We would be honored to invite you to join in this mission. Know of our prayers for you!

By building genuine friendships, we meet students on a deeper level.
We teach students how to share the gospel, who in turn teach other students how to pass it on.
