Where I serve

I am honored to serve my fourth year as a missionary at Colorado State University in Fort Collins! You’ll probably find me somewhere hammocking, baking cinnamon rolls, or curating my next favorite Spotify playlist. I can’t wait to see what the Lord has in store for this next year… Go Rams!

My Story

I was raised a true Husker, loving the corn fields and sunsets of Nebraska! Though we checked off the boxes of what it meant to be devout growing up, I encountered deep brokenness and sin within my own family. I started to realize nothing was perfect, including myself. This paradoxically motivated me towards perfectionism and success.

I believed I had to fix myself on my own because God didn’t want me in my imperfection.

Sainthood didn’t feel possible.

I yearned for authenticity as I began college at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, attempting to earn praise and approval from those around me through academics, music, and social groups. I let my identity be ruled by deceptive expectations, slowly being constricted by sin and lies of the enemy.

By my sophomore year, I finally gave into the invitation to join a bible study. We explored scripture, revealing the truth, beauty, and goodness of our Lord and the Gospel. My bible study leader and FOCUS missionary, Sarina, also pursued me in true friendship, seeking to know my life and story very intentionally. I deeply encountered the person of Jesus Christ through her friendship. Eventually I found this phrase rise up in my heart: ‘I just want to bring everyone to Heaven with me.’ In sharing this with her, Sarina invited me into the heart of the Gospel and a life of missionary discipleship pointed towards Heaven. No amount of my brokenness was ever too much for our Lord’s victory on the Cross. Through my commitment to daily prayer, frequenting the sacramental life, and rich community, He completely changed my life and heart, and continues to do so every day!

My story is the reason I have answered the call to a life on mission. It is one of deep redemption, and I am convicted the Lord has prepared redemption for each one of us. There is never a better time to fight for souls and cultivate sainthood in the Church than now!
