I’ve been extremely blessed to serve my first two years as a missionary at MIT in the Boston area, and am now in my third year with FOCUS serving at Iowa State University! Roll Clones!

I was extremely blessed to grow up in a loving, Catholic family in which we went to mass every Sunday and helped out a lot at our home parish.  I showed up to the University of Wisconsin Madison for my freshman year of college knowing that I wanted to continue living out my faith but thinking that I already had it all figured out.  It was through being invited into the student Catholic community on campus that I realized there was something important in my faith life that was missing.  I had in fact been practicing my faith for many years, but I had yet to fall in love with Jesus Christ and maintain a deep personal relationship with Him.  Over the next three years I dove headfirst into an incredible Catholic community that built me up in my faith by helping me build a consistent prayer life, frequenting the sacraments, and building friendships with other people who were also pursuing Christ.  By the end of my senior year, I had indeed fallen in love with Christ and desired to help others know Him as well.  I was excited to do so by living out my faith and being a “missionary” in the hospital setting to my co-workers and patients, with my new nursing degree!

However, a few months into my job I was feeling very unfulfilled and wasn’t sure why.  Through prayer, I realized my heart hurt to see my co-workers and patients’ lack of relationship with Christ, and I was pained that they hadn’t had the same college experiences I had to help me grow in my faith.  The Lord began to grow a stronger evangelistic zeal in my heart and I knew that the Lord was calling me to join FOCUS.  It has been a huge blessing to serve the students at MIT the past two years, and I am humbled and honored that the Lord has asked me to continue serving Him in this way at Iowa State University! I have the privilege of accompanying incredible students in getting to know Jesus Christ and walk with them in how to live their entire life centered around Him.  Through being a part of their conversions, my own faith has deepened and I have come to know the Lord in even more extraordinary ways than I could have hoped for!  I am so grateful that God has called me to be a part of this incredible mission and I am honored to partner with incredible people like YOU who make this all possible!!
