We encounter God in an intimate relationship through daily prayer, the sacraments and the Scriptures.
After two years of serving at the University of Illinois-Chicago, the Lord has called me to move campuses in order to serve at Illinois State University for my 3rd year on mission with FOCUS. Go Redbirds!
When I started college at the University of Michigan, I didn’t really have many close friends, let alone any friends I could truly live the faith with. After a failed attempt to live my Catholic faith alone my freshman year, the COVID-19 pandemic plunged me into a dark period of loneliness and apathy, spiritual desolation and silence.
By divine providence, this eventually led me to get involved with the Catholic Student Evangelization (CSE) group on campus, where I encountered solid, young Catholics who were strong in their faith and pursuit of holiness in a way that convicted me to strive to live to a higher standard that was beyond myself. While I initially thought I was just joining a club, they eventually became a part of my life. Not only did I begin to grow in my spiritual life, but I began to realize for the first time what it looked like, felt like, and how important it was to have a loving community to share life with, and fight the good fight of faith with, together.
That is why I chose to become a FOCUS missionary.
The reality is that the loneliness and apathy that I experienced was not a unique, one-off occasion. Students on college campuses all across the country are crying out and are hungry– for greater purpose and meaning in their lives, for a true sense of identity and belief, and to be known, seen, heard, and loved. Too many young people are searching for answers to big, important life questions in the wrong places and in the wrong things.
Having personally felt both the need that exists on college campuses, as well as the impact of the solution that is Jesus Christ and His Catholic Church, lived through a Catholic worldview in community and fellowship, the mission and vision of FOCUS to “make disciples of all nations” (Matthew 28:19) resonates very personally in me.
I have no other choice but to simply respond to the Faith, Hope, and Love which I have received, to strive to share with others at least a glimpse of what I have received from God through Jesus Christ & His Church. That is what is meant to be a missionary disciple. Rescued people rescue people.
“Some give to the mission by going out, others go out on mission by giving. Without both, there is no mission.” –Mother Teresa
This generation of Christians is responsible for reaching this generation of souls.
If the world needs missionaries, then the world also needs mission partners.
When I answered God’s call for me to join FOCUS as a full-time missionary, I made the decision to rely on the spiritual and financial support of Mission Partners to help me through this mission.
If you are interested in joining my team on God’s rescue mission to save souls, please let me know the best way to reach you and I will schedule an appointment. I’d be honored to share this mission with you!

We encounter God in an intimate relationship through daily prayer, the sacraments and the Scriptures.
By building genuine friendships, we meet students on a deeper level.
We teach students how to share the gospel, who in turn teach other students how to pass it on.
