We encounter God in an intimate relationship through daily prayer, the sacraments and the Scriptures.
“For the soul is weak and helpless unless it clings to the rock of truth.” -Saint Augustine
Hey! I’m Jeremiah and I serve at the University of California, Irvine. Zot Zot!
Even though I was born and raised Catholic, there were always things that were more important to my life than my faith. Whether it was competitive soccer and my social status in high school or fraternity life and academic success in college, my faith took a backseat while I let other activities drive my life.
It wasn’t until my sophomore year at the University of Washington (Go Dawgs!) when the COVID quarantines hit that, out of the blue and out of boredom, I decided to start doing the daily readings. Somehow, this led me to finally take the time to actually think, learn more about the Catholic faith, read the scriptures more thoroughly, and pray. The more I did these things, the more I understood the truth of the Catholic faith. When I returned to campus, the FOCUS missionaries at UW helped me further my faith and develop a relationship with God. For the first time in my life, I finally felt comfortable being myself and living for something greater. I finally was able to grasp my identity and where I fit inside this vast world of ours, as a beloved son of God. And I slowly realized that true life comes from living it with God, both on this earth and in Heaven. As a FOCUS missionary, I have the incredible gift of freedom to pursue a life of holiness and to invite college students into that pursuit.
When I answered the call to join FOCUS, I made the decision to rely on the spiritual and financial support of mission partners to help me through this mission. I’ve been blessed with the most amazing people who have journeyed with me as I serve on campus. If you are interested in partnering with me, please let me know the best way to reach you and I will schedule an appointment. I’d be honored to share this mission with you.

By building genuine friendships, we meet students on a deeper level.
We teach students how to share the gospel, who in turn teach other students how to pass it on.
