We encounter God in an intimate relationship through daily prayer, the sacraments and the Scriptures.
Hello! My name’s Joe. I’m a FOCUS missionary.
Do not be afraid. Do not be satisfied with mediocrity. Put out into the deep and let down your nets for a catch .I plead with you – never, ever give up on hope, never doubt, never tire, and never become discouraged. Be not afraid. – St. Pope John Paul II
God has called me to serve college students at The University of Kentucky in Lexington, Kentucky. Go Cats! As a graduate of the University of Alabama, I’m excited to be able to continue sharing Jesus Christ with students on an SEC campus.
There are many things I could share about my faith journey, and I would love to share it with you sometime individually. To sum it up, my life is much better now that I am a practicing Catholic. I was truly enslaved and addicted to many things in this world before I came back to the faith that I grew up with, and I have FOCUS missionaries to thank for much of my conversion.
While I am nowhere near perfect now, I do feel free. In college, I was shown that all people were made for a personal relationship with Jesus, including me. Missionaries and other people in the Bama Catholic community taught me how to live this out, and I learned that the meaning of life is to know, love, and serve God. I’m so grateful that I have the opportunity to lead other college students through this same experience!
When I joined FOCUS, I made the decision to rely on the spiritual and financial support of mission partners to help me through this mission. If you are interested in partnering with me, please let me know of the best way to reach you, and we can schedule an appointment. I’d be honored to share this mission with you. My phone number is 901-500-6950, and my email is [email protected].
We encounter God in an intimate relationship through daily prayer, the sacraments and the Scriptures.
By building genuine friendships, we meet students on a deeper level.
We teach students how to share the gospel, who in turn teach other students how to pass it on.
