God has called me to serve at Colorado School of Mines in Golden, Colorado with my teammates Maria, Jessie, and Greg. I am so excited to share the gospel with students and show the absolute joy that only Jesus Christ can bring. After only living in Illinois and Kansas, I can’t wait to explore all that Colorado has to offer such as snowboarding and hiking.
I am from St. Charles, Illinois which is a suburb of Chicago. Prior to transferring to the University of Kansas (Rock Chalk), I played collegiate baseball at Parkland College. Playing junior college baseball was such an incredible experience and I learned so much from it. However, my lack of recruitment options post junior college and Covid forced me to stop playing. I transferred to KU where I didn’t know anyone and was living a very lukewarm faith life. It wasn’t until I met a FOCUS missionary by the name of Nate Hall, who sought authentic friendship with me. He then shared the gospel with me and showed me how to live a Christ centered life. Nate’s impact inspired me to go all in with my faith and start committing to daily prayer, frequenting the sacraments, and even leading my own bible study. The fulfillment that I experienced from committing my life to Christ was what I had been searching for for so long and it inspired me to want to have that same impact on college students.
Nearly two-thirds of college students feel alone, more than half feel hopeless on a regular basis, and 80% of Catholics that leave the catholic church leave before the age of 23. College kids are lost and searching for life, but searching in the wrong places. When I answered the call to join FOCUS, I made the decision to rely on the spiritual and financial support of mission partners to help me through this mission. If you are interested in partnering with me, please let me know the best way to reach you and we can schedule an appointment. I would be honored to share this mission with you and bring Jesus to so many college students in need.
