Thank you for considering joining my mission support team! See more info about me and my mission below…
I have been called to serve the midshipmen at the United States Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland! It is a great honor to serve these students who are being trained to protect and ensure our country’s safety. I am excited to be a part of their journey in deepening their faith, and I hope that through my role, I can show them the joy of having a personal relationship with God and how that can transform their lives.
My story of taking my Faith as my own started at Sacred Heart Girls Camp in Big Bear, CA. I was 18 years old when I began to have my reconversion and when I was a camp counselor for the first time after being a camper for eight years! This summer, before my Freshman year of college, was a transformative time as I began to understand how God was my ultimate fulfillment and that the peace I always searched for was found in trusting in Him. At this camp, I made relationships with friends who sat with me in the highs and lows of my reconversion. They walked with me as I wrestled with what it means to surrender all parts of my life to Jesus. In these relationships, where my friends sat with me in the struggles and celebrated with me in the joys, is where I understood the Father’s unconditional love for me.
Later in my college career, I first experienced FOCUS when participating in their Summer Projects Program. Here, I grew in my relationship with God, understanding who I am in God’s eyes and the freedom that came with that. This summer convinced me deeper of why it is essential to have a community that will help you grow in your relationship with Jesus and was a witness in showing me how the missionaries met students wherever they were in their faith journey and accompanied them towards having a stronger relationship with God. After Summer Projects, I got involved with FOCUS’s Digital Outreach program, where I continued walking with a missionary for the rest of my time in college. In my experiences with FOCUS, I remembered the power of friendship and how one relationship, rooted out of unconditional love for the other, can transform and lead someone to Jesus.
When I answered the call to join FOCUS, I made the commitment to rely on the prayerful and financial support of mission partners to help me through this mission. This opportunity to trust in the Lord’s providence and generosity is humbling but very rewarding in itself. If you are interested in partnering with me, please let me know of the best way to reach you and I will schedule an appointment. I am always available at [email protected] and (760) 953-0440. I would be honored to share this mission with you.
In Christ,
Kailyn
We encounter God in an intimate relationship through daily prayer, the sacraments and the Scriptures.
By building genuine friendships, we meet students on a deeper level.
We teach students how to share the gospel, who in turn teach other students how to pass it on.
