We encounter God in an intimate relationship through daily prayer, the sacraments and the Scriptures.
Hey! My name’s Kathryn and I’m a FOCUS missionary at Miami University, Ohio!
I first encountered FOCUS Missionaries at Minnesota State University, Mankato, now I’ve been called to serve in this capacity Ohio working with students at Miami University. I’m excited to be at this campus as the Ohio community is tight knit and so dedicated to their mission! This campus is a unique spot to serve at as we have a new Newman center… With a kitchen! I’m so looking forward to bringing students together around home cooked meals this year as we share in food and fellowship.
As a new missionary, my greatest desire is to reach students who are going through what I experienced even just last year: the loneliness that one can feel on a college campus. I desire to walk with students, and together, discover how to live with virtue and authentic love. My team and I will be on campus with these students to share in the daily pursuit of what is good and true. My own life was altered when I began applying biblical teachings to daily living, but I didn’t come to learn this on my own. It was a team of FOCUS missionaries who took interest in me, invested in me, and helped me find my authentic identity, that ultimately lead me to realize how loved I truly am. I’m beyond grateful to have the opportunity to do for others what was done for me. Now it’s my turn to teach others how loved they are and how to be leaders in the faith.
When I answered the call to join FOCUS, I made the decision to rely on the spiritual and financial support of mission partners to help me through this mission. I’ve been blessed with the most amazing people who have journeyed with me as I serve on campus. If you are interested in partnering with me, please let me know of the best way to reach you and I will schedule an appointment. I’d be honored to share this mission with you.
We encounter God in an intimate relationship through daily prayer, the sacraments and the Scriptures.
By building genuine friendships, we meet students on a deeper level.
We teach students how to share the gospel, who in turn teach other students how to pass it on.
