We encounter God in an intimate relationship through daily prayer, the sacraments and the Scriptures.
Hello! My name is Kayla. I am a FOCUS missionary!
I have been called to serve at the United States Military Academy in West Point, New York! I am so grateful to have the opportunity to walk with the brave men and women preparing to serve our country. As someone born and raised in New York, I am very excited to share my love for my home state with the cadets!
Before my freshman year of college, I never had a community that shared my faith. My family raised me Catholic, but it was something I only practiced on Sundays and Fridays during Lent. My first semester in college was incredibly transformative. I received the sacraments frequently and was surrounded by devout people who became like family. I was being healed and made new through the love that was being poured out on me. The fire ignited in me from this love wanted to spread to those who had not experienced it before. College can be a lonely, difficult place. I was longing for community. It was through the invitation of one person that I was introduced to the world that changed my life forever. There entered a joy in me that was visible to everyone around me. Jesus said, “These things I have spoken to you, that my joy may be in you, and that your joy may be full” (John 15:11). As a missionary, I hope to spread that joy which Christ gave me to the ones He has called me to encounter.
When I answered the call to join FOCUS, I also committed to relying on the spiritual and financial support of mission partners to help me through this mission. If you are interested in partnering with me, please let me know the best way to reach you and I will schedule an appointment. It would be an honor to share this mission with you!

By building genuine friendships, we meet students on a deeper level.
We teach students how to share the gospel, who in turn teach other students how to pass it on.
