We encounter God in an intimate relationship through daily prayer, the sacraments and the Scriptures.
Hi there, welcome! My name is Kaylor. I’m a third-year FOCUS missionary on campus at the University of Nebraska at Kearney. 🙂
God has called me to serve college students – I reside in Kearney, NE on campus at UNK to serve amongst the community found there. It’s typical to find me, a Kansas girl, outside on walks, creating watercolor and calligraphy artwork, sitting around a living room of lively conversation, and popping into small business shops. I have an incredible story about how the Lord has been transforming my heart and my life – I would love to share it with you and hear yours as well!
As a missionary, my greatest desire is to lead all students, and all people, to Christ. My life has been transformed by Jesus and I want nothing more than to bring this joy to others and introduce them to the life-changing message of the Gospel.
I grew up in a Catholic home, under the formation and guidance of Catholic education and, while I heard of the idea that God was personal, loving, and all-merciful, I entered into college not necessarily believing this was true for me. I was not yet ready to give Him my all in “yes” because I did not know Him in a uniquely personal way, and consequently, lived a relatively mediocre lifestyle, swept up by the busyness and noise of college culture. I was doubtful that there was true joy and satisfaction to be found in living a life sold out completely for Christ.
Encountering God in a deep and profound way through the friendship of the missionaries on my campus my sophomore year, especially through a woman named Jordan, I was shown that there is no other life worth living outside of one totally with Christ. By their witness and pursuit of friendship with me, I was led into a life of joy and true Reality. I have been brought into awareness of the gaze of God, ever so gradually yet so tangibly, and have experienced Him change my heart from disbelief into belief, from sadness into rejoicing, from small desires into magnanimous hope and I desire to live entirely for Him, bringing this freedom to others.
When I answered the call to join FOCUS, I made the decision to rely on the spiritual and financial support of mission partners to help me through this mission. I’ve been blessed by the generosity of those who have journeyed with me as I serve on campus. If you are interested in partnering with me, please let me know of the best way to reach you and I will schedule an appointment. I’d be honored to share this mission with you!
We encounter God in an intimate relationship through daily prayer, the sacraments and the Scriptures.
By building genuine friendships, we meet students on a deeper level.
We teach students how to share the gospel, who in turn teach other students how to pass it on.
