Where I serve

I am serving in my second and final year for FOCUS at Oklahoma State University (OSU) in Stillwater, Oklahoma – Go Pokes! It has been such a gift to give my life to the many new friends I have met at OSU in the Fall of ’24 and Spring ’25. Stillwater is nestled in the northern central area of Oklahoma and is home to the Cowboys – Pistols Firin’! As you can see, I’m getting a sense of the lingo over in Stillwater.

Though I am a homegrown Texan, Oklahoma has begun to capture my heart with its cooler weather (often because of strong winds) and its iconic chain restaurant, Braum’s, which offers some of the most delicious ice cream and milk for all of my dairy lovers.

My Story

By the time I was coming of age my mama and pops had grown quite mature in their Christian faith in which I was blessed to receive from them a great amount of genuine love and formation in knowing Jesus as Lord.

It was the FOCUS initiative of forming intentional disciples after Christ Jesus that led me to become a missionary and, thus, establishing in my heart a greater desire to serve the Lord God and His Kingdom.

During my encounter with FOCUS, I was also a part of the Beta Upsilon Chi (BYX) Fraternity and in the context of this brotherhood, Jesus continued to cultivate a mindset within me of “Kingdom Building” in all that I do (Romans 12:2).
