“Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.”
John 15:13

Howdy! My name is Kyle. I am a FOCUS missionary.

Where I serve

The Lord has called me to serve at one of the most exciting places in the country: The United States Military Academy at West Point!! What a blessing it is to walk with men who are on the path to serving as officers in the United States Army!

My Story

As a student at Texas A&M, I was always seeking the next rung on the ladder; always looking to worldly success to define who I was. I strayed from the Catholic faith in which I was raised when I first arrived in College Station in the Fall of 2017. Praise be to God, I came back to the faith during my sophomore year and began to take Jesus Christ and His Church seriously. However, I continued to turn to worldly things over Him and didn’t fully surrender myself to the Lord.  I eventually reached the final rung of this metaphorical ladder my senior year and realized there was not the fulfillment I thought there would be at the top. I enjoyed being a student and enjoyed what I was involved in, but it was crushing to come to the realization that these things would not offer me what I desired. This was namely a definitive purpose and direction in my life. Through the Lord’s providence, at this same time, I was connected with a FOCUS missionary at Texas A&M and began attending his bible study. Through friendship with this missionary, the Lord was able to show me a glimpse of the joy and abundant life He promises.

In February of 2021, I attended the SEEK21 conference at Texas A&M. It was there during Eucharistic Adoration the final night of the conference that Jesus spoke to me in a profound way. He showed me how all the things I was turning to, academics, success, vices, relationships, were leaving me empty time and time again. He then revealed to me what it would look like to put my trust in Him above all else. I committed to surrender myself totally to Him that night and began the process of pruning my intentions. Not more than two weeks later, the opportunity to apply to become a missionary was presented. I applied and became a full-time staff member in May of 2021!

Through this last year of being a missionary, I am continually called to growth and increased trust in the Goodness of Our Almighty God. It has been one of the greatest experiences of my life to walk with the men at West Point and I am so excited to see how He continues to work in my life during my second year at the Military Academy! Ad Majorem Dei Gloriam!

“I have been crucified with Christ: it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me, and the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself up for me”    -Gal 2:20

Your Impact

When I answered the call to join FOCUS, I made the decision to rely on the spiritual and financial support of mission partners to help me through this mission. I’ve been blessed with the most amazing people who have journeyed with me as I serve on campus. If you are interested in partnering with me, please let me know of the best way to reach you and I will schedule an appointment. I’d be honored to share this mission with you. Thanks, Gig’em, and God Bless!
