We encounter God in an intimate relationship through daily prayer, the sacraments and the Scriptures.
God has invited me to serve at the University of Wisconsin- La Crosse for my second year!!
I was brought up in the Catholic Church but encountered Jesus during my freshman year at Northwest Missouri State at a student-led Bible study and retreat. After spending four years in a college setting, I have seen and experienced multiple ways in which the Devil tries to lead souls away from Heaven. College campuses are truly a battleground for eternity. My ache for others my age to know God’s restoring, perfect, Trinitarian Love led me to serve Him as a FOCUS missionary.
As a missionary last year, I got to see my spiritual poverty and human weakness on display while working alongside college students at UWL. In my pride, I desperately wanted to give the people I serve what I believed to be the gold and silver of the spiritual life: wisdom, an advanced intellect, every answer to every question, and the best ideas. I often thought, “Without perfection in those areas, how could I possibly participate in the Great Commission?”
I believe that God revealed to me this summer that like St. Peter in his imperfection though, I get to and can just simply accompany others in a lifelong adventure with Him. Being a FOCUS missionary allows me to accompany college students through authentic friendship, Bible studies, discipleship, retreats, conferences, pilgrimages, and mission trips. Praise God that He uses our humanity for His greater glory and for all of the examples His Providence this past year at La Crosse!
I have the availabilty to give my entire life and the Love of Jesus Christ to the few I get to invest in at UWL with the confidence that God can use that to reach the whole world. Your time and responsibilities keep you from going to campus. But what do you have to give to the Great Commission and these college students? Like St. Peter, I invite you to say with pure Resurrection joy “but what I do have I give you.” You have a part to play in this call as a missionary disciple, and I would love to serve on this mission with you through your prayerful and financial support.
“Go, therefore, and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit” (Mt 28:19).
Will you join me?
Since we are on this mission together, your prayer intentions are also mine! Please let me know how I can be praying for you! You can reach me at (308) 850-6677 and [email protected] 😀
We encounter God in an intimate relationship through daily prayer, the sacraments and the Scriptures.
By building genuine friendships, we meet students on a deeper level.
We teach students how to share the gospel, who in turn teach other students how to pass it on.
