Where I serve

This year, I will have the privilege of serving the students at Worcester Polytechnic Institute in Worcester, Massachusetts as a FOCUS missionary! I’m overjoyed to have the chance to share the life-giving Gospel of Jesus Christ, the Son of God, on campus with the students of WPI! Go Goats!!

My Story

I first encountered the person of Jesus Christ in college through the humble and loving influence of a FOCUS missionary! Despite being brought up in a Christian background, I lost my faith during college and initially experienced the challenges that too often plague college students of loneliness and rejection. My FOCUS missionary’s gentle efforts to invite me into Bible studies, personal formation, and genuine friendship showed me the beautiful presence of the Holy Spirit in Catholic community. The Catholic brotherhood that I experienced at Columbia University in New York also inspired me to pursue the truth that is found in Jesus Christ and to share that truth with others through inviting others into our community and through being a part of the real Catholic family at our ministry!

Having now decided to become a FOCUS missionary, I am committed to sharing that same spirit of unity and love that pervades the Gospel with students who, like me, experience the loneliness and isolation. Inviting others to experience the peace of Jesus Christ is a part of who I am, and the opportunity to share that with students is a privilege and a joy. We are called as missionary disciples of Christ to go out and to fearlessly proclaim the Gospel with love and with zeal. Through leading students in Bible studies, calling them to higher devotion to Jesus, and through being a witness to the beauty of the faith, I can be a part of sharing the life that is found in Jesus Christ and in His Holy Church with the many college students who need Him so desperately: “I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly” (John 10:10).

When I answered the call to join FOCUS, I made the decision to rely on the spiritual and financial support of mission partners to help me through this mission. I’ve been blessed with the most amazing people who have journeyed with me as I serve on campus.
