We encounter God in an intimate relationship through daily prayer, the sacraments and the Scriptures.
Hey! We are the Millers and we are a FOCUS missionary family!
God has called us to serve the college students at Eastern Washington University. You’ll find us hanging out on campus, at the Newman Center, or anywhere that involves coffee.
We both grew up in Nebraska and were raised in great Catholic families! Fast forward to college. Luke felt called to seminary and attended St. John Vianey College Seminary in MN where he studied Philosophy and Catholic Studies. Hayley felt called to become a teacher and attended the University of Nebraska-Lincoln studying Elementary Education and Special Education. Following graduation, the Lord made it clear that he was inviting both of us deeper into mission. Luke discerned out of seminary and Hayley away from teaching in a school and we each said yes to serve with FOCUS! After a few years on mission serving @ UNL (Luke) and Carnegie Mellon (Hayley) we began to date and we were married while in our third year of missionary life. We are now in our sixth year as missionaries! During out time on mission, we have been blessed with two daughters, Mercy Nicole and Sophia Caeli!
As missionaries, our greatest desire is to lead students to Christ. Our lives have been transformed by Jesus and we want nothing more than to bring this joy to others and introduce them to the life-changing message of the Gospel. The Lord has invited us to live this missionary life in a particular way as a family and it is our greatest joy. The witness that we are able to be of a family striving for holiness is something that often many of our students haven t been able to experience. We are so grateful to be able to serve the students as missionaries and to let the Lord work though our little family.
Our family now serves at Eastern Washington University in Cheney, WA!
When we answered the call to join FOCUS, we made the decision to rely on the spiritual and financial support of mission partners to help us in this mission. We ve been blessed with the most amazing people who have journeyed with us as we serve on campus. We never thought it possible to raise a family while living our family life on mission and raising support. However, the Lord has transformed our lives through the generosity of others and we can t be grateful enough. If you are interested in partnering with our family, please let us know of the best way to reach you and we will be in touch. We would be honored to share this mission with you. Please keep our family and our students in your prayers!
We encounter God in an intimate relationship through daily prayer, the sacraments and the Scriptures.
By building genuine friendships, we meet students on a deeper level.
We teach students how to share the gospel, who in turn teach other students how to pass it on.
