God has called me to serve college students. I am really excited about this call because not long ago I was a college student myself and my life radically changed because of FOCUS missionaries at my campus back in Graz, Austria. I have the privilege to now serve students in Krems, Austria alongside an amazing team.

I was born and raised in a Catholic family, but as so many in my generation I lost interest in my faith during my teenage years and was looking for fulfillment in ways the world was telling me to. It wasn’t until way into my law studies that FOCUS started expanding to Europe and I encountered the missionaries towards the end of their first year at my university. I was really attracted by the way they lived their lives and their friendships and how they literally moved across the ocean to share the Gospel with people like me. I soon experienced this very personally as I became close friends with one of them, who invited me to her bible study and started meeting with me regularly for discipleship. Learning from her in depth what the Catholic Church is all about – God’s love story with humanity – and how to live in real relationship with Jesus Christ through daily prayer, I came to know joy that didn’t depend on external circumstances but simply on the truth of being a beloved daughter of God.

Knowing from experience what life without Christ is like, and how many people are stuck in the same ways I used to be, my greatest desire is to share the good news that have been shared with me and the hope that defies all odds. Especially in our post-Christian culture, the idea of God as a judge and a rule maker is prevailing rather than that of the loving and merciful Father that He truly is, longing for all His children to return home to Him.

Following the example of Jesus who humbled Himself and took upon Himself our human nature in order to meet us where we are, as missionaries we want to meet people where they are and truly become a part of their lives and let them become part of ours.

Saying yes to this call means also to fully rely on the spiritual and financial support of people who are willing to partner with me in this mission. I have been blessed with the most wonderful people to journey with me as I set out on this great adventure and I trust that God will continue to bless those relationships.
