We encounter God in an intimate relationship through daily prayer, the sacraments and the Scriptures.
“So, being affectionately desirous of you, we were ready to share with you not only the gospel of God but also our own selves, because you had become very dear to us.” 1 Thessalonians 2:8
Where I serve
I will be serving a second year at Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island. Brown is an Ivy League school, with students in many different fields such as medicine and computer science, and they are raising up future world leaders. There is much work to be done to share the gospel with the whole campus, but there is a very vibrant, up and coming Catholic community with students who are boldly living their faith. I am excited to continue the work of evangelization that has been started at Brown!
My Story
I grew up Catholic and went to Catholic school, but the start of college was a challenging time to find my place. After a while, I encountered God in a real way through participating in a Bible study and going on retreats with the Catholic Campus Ministry at George Mason. With a newly genuine relationship with Jesus, I began leading a Bible study of my own while walking with a few girls in discipleship. Through this experience, I saw how much God desires for every person to know him and wanted to continue sharing the good news after graduation as a FOCUS missionary.
Your Impact
You can be a part of this work of evangelization by joining me on mission! As a missionary I rely on the generosity of mission partners to spiritually and financially support me on mission. We are all called to share the gospel through our baptism; but not all can work as full time missionaries on campus. You have an opportunity to join in the salvation of souls by praying for me on mission and joining my financial support team. May God bless your generosity!
Team Brown: John, Mary, Gabbi, Andres
We encounter God in an intimate relationship through daily prayer, the sacraments and the Scriptures.
By building genuine friendships, we meet students on a deeper level.
We teach students how to share the gospel, who in turn teach other students how to pass it on.
