Hey! My name’s Marykate. I’m a FOCUS missionary.

Where I serve

I am so excited God has called me to serve in the beautiful city of Pittsburgh! I am entering my fifth year as a missionary here at Pitt and will be serving as the Team Director. It is a joy to get to share in this mission with you!

My Story

During my freshmen year of college I attended the SEEK conference that is put on by FOCUS. I was completely in awe seeing thousands of vibrant college students from all over the country who were actively searching for their faith. I had never seen people my age live out the faith with such radiant joy and complete conviction. I encountered truth, beauty, and goodness in the Catholic Church and I knew that I wanted to spend my life inviting others to encounter the same. That conference planted a seed in my heart, that led my faith to grow abundantly. I started getting involved in a weekly bible study, attending daily mass, and encountering true & authentic friendship. My life has never been the same.

As a missionary, my greatest desire is to lead all students to Christ. My life has been transformed by Jesus and I want nothing more than to bring this joy to others and introduce them to the life-changing message of the Gospel. In His ministry on earth, Jesus humbled Himself to meet us on our level, taking on our humanity, and spent most of His time investing deeply in a few. He has become the center of all that I do, and has given me the passion to share Him everywhere I go. It has been one of the greatest joys of my life to get to be on mission, and invite others to join me!
