Where I serve

I am so blessed that the Lord has called me to serve the students at the University of Oregon. I am so excited to be able to walk with students while they journey in their college lives.

My Story

As a missionary, my greatest desire is to lead all students to experience the immense love that Christ has to offer. In my time in college, I bought into the “typical” college experience that centered around ideas of the world. It was about a year into college that I woke up and realized I was simply “living for the weekend.” I thought, “there has to be more!” As I started to dive back into my Catholic faith, I realized that I had been living much of my life from a place of shame and woundedness. I found that I was trying to fill my broken heart with things of the world, and nothing satiated that empty feeling. With prayer and the support of a great community, I realized that the only thing that could fill that hole was the Father’s unconditional love for me. To truly experience that love, I had to let the Lord into the broken and wounded places of myself. Through the sacraments and a truly personal relationship with Christ, I was able to really let the Lord transform and heal my heart. Christ offered me exactly what I was seeking: more! He offered me a life worth living for Him. I experienced a deep joy and a great freedom that can only be experienced fully through Him.

After experiencing immense healing from the Lord and truly allowing Him into my life, I found myself desiring to go out and share Him with everyone I encountered. I said “yes” to FOCUS because I ache for students on a college campus to experience the great love that Christ has for them. I want people to be set free from the ideas of modern culture, and ask the question “what was I made for?” I want to witness to the great joy that it is to live life with and for Christ.

When I answered the call to join FOCUS, I made the decision to rely on the spiritual and financial support of mission partners to help me through this mission. I’ve been blessed with the most amazing people who have journeyed with me as I serve on campus.
