“One life is all we have and we live it as we believe in living it. But to sacrifice what you are and to live without belief, that is a fate more terrible than dying” – Joan of Arc
I am currently a 2nd-year missionary serving at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. It is a great privilege to continue my missionary journey in this great state!
In the beginning of my time at the University of South Carolina (Go Cocks), I was lost in the world around me, diving headfirst into everything the people said was good for me. I wanted to live my faith but I was still attached to the false happiness I had built up in the college culture. Upon meeting the male students and missionaries at USC, I had an amazing shift of heart simply by encountering people that showed real care for me without anything I could give in return. These men lived a life of beauty and virtue, and I wanted it too. Not too long after that, they showed me that the virtue they possessed was not their own, but Jesus Christ living in them.
After that, these same men walked with me as I began to pursue the Good Life with Jesus Christ at the center. For the rest of my time in college, I found great joy in sharing this same life with other people. For the rest of college, I began leading bible studies and walking with men one on one to show them the same love I have received.
FOCUS has given me an opportunity to do what I love as a full time job and I could not be more thankful. My story is one of people sharing their lives with me in a beautiful way, and I could not be more excited to now give what I have received.
When I decided to join FOCUS as a missionary, I also made the decision to live by relying on the generosity of others in a radical way as Jesus Christ told His disciples to follow. This has already been a very beautiful challenge that has taught me so much about radical trust in the Lord, “For all these things do the nations of the world seek. But your Father knoweth that you have need of these things”. If this mission inspires you or if you want to know more about it, I’d love to talk to you! Please reach out to me personally either by phone 803-634-7477 or through email at [email protected]. It would be a privilege to have you partner with me in this life-changing mission!

By building genuine friendships, we meet students on a deeper level.
We teach students how to share the gospel, who in turn teach other students how to pass it on.
