Where I serve

I am excited to serve my third year as a FOCUS missionary as a Program Director with FOCUS Europe!

My Story

In the later years of my college career, it became abundantly clear to me that so many people are lonely in the world. This leads to a number of different problems that our society faces, but this loneliness that people feel is not justified. After all, we are made for relationship and everything we do should reflect that desire for relationship.

At the beginning of my senior year of college, one of the students involved with FOCUS at The Ohio State University helped me to learn how a relationship with Jesus Christ would help not only with my faith, but with every other relationship in my life, to live so as to love every human person authentically and as a beloved son or daughter of Christ. My college career was amazing, but many of the experiences I had left me unfulfilled, and I knew there had to be something more than what I had experienced.

Throughout my senior year, Jesus revealed Himself to me through the various encounters I had in college, bringing me closer to him through Bible study, growing closer to Christ in prayer, and laying down my life for my friends. In due time had called me to be one of His missionaries, to serve students on college campuses, and to help others to know Him more deeply.

My first year as a missionary at Coastal Carolina University in Conway, South Carolina was an amazing adventure, where I not only learned how to live mission more fully, but I also smoothed out some rough edges off in the process. I walked with some wonderful students, built up many friendships, and enjoyed my time there, but had a last-minute reassignment to Pittsburgh for my second year on mission.

During my second year on mission, this time at Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, I encountered Jesus Christ more deeply, finding new ways to set aside my preferences, grow in missionary zeal, and see more clearly just how much our modern world needs the gift of faith. I especially saw this through the many international students I encountered on campus, and that opened my heart to the idea of serving students not just in the United States, but in other countries as well.

As I transition away from campus to serve with FOCUS Europe, Alice (my fiancée) and I will be working as Program Directors, to help FOCUS enhance operations in Europe, build up more leaders amongst students, recruit more local European students to serve as missionaries, and contribute to our efforts to expand to new countries. I’m looking forward to seeing the fruits that come from this not just in the next year, but in the long-term future of the Church in Europe!

Your Impact

When I answered the call to join FOCUS, I made the decision to rely on the spiritual and financial support of mission partners to help me through this mission. During my time on campus, I’ve been blessed with the most amazing people who have journeyed with me to make the mission possible, and I need your support more than ever as I transition to my new role in Europe.

If you are interested in partnering with me, please let me know of the best way to reach you and I will reach out to set up a time to meet. I would be honored to share this mission with you. Send me a text or call me at 419-234-6474 or email me at [email protected]. Thank you and God bless!
