We encounter God in an intimate relationship through daily prayer, the sacraments and the Scriptures.
“And they devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and fellowship, to the breaking of bread and the prayers. And fear came upon every soul; and many wonders and signs were done through the apostles. And all who believed were together and had all things in common; and they sold their possessions and goods and distributed them to all, as any had need. And day by day, attending the temple together and breaking bread in their homes, they partook of food with glad and generous hearts, praising God and having favor with all the people. And the Lord added to their number day by day those who were being saved.”
Acts 2:42-47
God has called me to serve as a third-year FOCUS missionary at Shippensburg University. I spent my first two years serving at Bridgewater State University in Massachusetts. Shippensburg is a brand-new expansion campus, so my teammates and I are the first campus missionaries to be serving at Shippensburg full-time. Shippensburg is a mid-sized state university in rural south-central Pennsylvania. I am blessed to serve with three other full-time missionaries (Joshua, Olivia, and Sheila). Our team is also blessed to be on mission with Joshua’s wife, Nicole, and their two small children, James and Genna. My teammates and I spread the love of Jesus Christ on campus by leading Bible studies, discipleship groups, and doing various outreach activities.
I graduated from West Chester University of Pennsylvania in 2022 with a degree in middle school education. I had no idea that my decision to transfer to West Chester would change my life forever. When I first came to West Chester, the campus was almost entirely shut down due to COVID. The campus Newman Center was the only thing near campus which was open. On a whim, I came to the Newman Center looking for new friends and looking to potentially rediscover my Catholic faith I lost years ago. Upon entering the Newman Center, I immediately encountered FOCUS missionaries. I was flabbergasted by the incredible faith and kindness the missionaries showed me. The FOCUS missionaries who walked with me at West Chester truly changed my life. Now, as a FOCUS missionary myself, I am honored to have the opportunity to lead students to Jesus the same way the missionaries at West Chester led me.
All of the incredible work that FOCUS does would be impossible without your generous support. As a FOCUS missionary, I rely entirely on your prayers and monthly mission partner donations. If you are interested in joining my support team, or if you would like to learn more about the mission work I do with FOCUS, I would be honored to meet with you either in person or via a phone call. We encounter God in an intimate relationship through daily prayer, the sacraments and the Scriptures.
By building genuine friendships, we meet students on a deeper level.
We teach students how to share the gospel, who in turn teach other students how to pass it on.
