I currently serve as a missionary with the MPD department (Mission Partner Development), holding the position of Senior MPD Specialist in my tenth year with FOCUS. As a department, our role in the organization is to contribute to FOCUS’s growth and prosperity by mobilizing missionaries for the New Evangelization, establishing a foundation of excellence in personal support raising. Throughout the year, we organize MPD trainings, coaching sessions, and resource development for all FOCUS staff, enable the success of our mission.

To better understand our work at the DSC (Denver Support Center – FOCUS headquarters), consider it comparable to NASA’s operations when launching shuttles into space. Sending a team of astronauts into space requires the collaborative efforts of hundreds on the ground for a mission to be possible and successful.

Similarly, behind the scenes at FOCUS’s National Headquarters, our collective efforts are pivotal in launching over 900 missionaries onto more than 234 campuses that FOCUS currently serves.

During my undergraduate years at Colorado State University, I encountered a transformative relationship with Jesus Christ through FOCUS and other campus outreach opportunities. This experience not only changed my life but clarified the purpose for which God created me.

Following this spiritual awakening, I discerned God’s call for me to serve college students, a calling that resonated strongly while completing my degree in Landscape Architecture. My initial two years as a FOCUS missionary were served at the University of California, Berkeley and marked a pivotal period, coinciding with FOCUS’s first expansion into California. Through this experience, I gained profound insights, reinforcing my conviction about the importance of serving this mission of hope in a world filled with brokenness and pain!

This desire led me to continue serving as a missionary with FOCUS and to invest more of myself on a national level after marrying my husband, Peter, in 2015 and leaving campus. We now have three incredible kids: two daughters named Evelyn (born June 2016) and Malia (born February 2018), and a son named Samuel (born October 2019).
