We encounter God in an intimate relationship through daily prayer, the sacraments and the Scriptures.
See what love the Father has for us that we may be called the children of God. Yet so we are!
1 John 3:1
The Lord has called me to serve at Loras College in Dubuque, Iowa! It is an honor to share the love of Jesus with the students here. In a particular way, I have the privilege of walking with female athletes and helping them encounter the truth that their identity is found in God’s incomprehensible love for them- a love that does not change based on how they perform- which has been a huge part of my own story!
Growing up, I went to Catholic school my whole life. Faith was always something I was interested in, but despite knowing a lot about my faith, I never knew Jesus personally. My freshman year of college, while studying psychology and dance, I got involved with a FOCUS bible study at Lindenwood that completely transformed my life!
It was in this bible study that I personally encountered Jesus for the first time. Through the story of The Prodigal Son, I realized that my whole life I had been trying to earn love from everyone around me and from God. But the Lord was inviting me to realize that He loved me without me having to do ANYTHING. After this encounter, I started making time to spend in scripture each day and really started to get to know who He is and who I am: a beloved daughter of God. In addition, the friendships I made through bible study brought me the most authentic and abundant joy I had ever experienced.
After encountering this love and joy of the Lord, I wanted my friends outside of my Catholic Center to know this love too! So, I started a bible study with some of my dance program friends and sorority sisters, and it was AMAZING to see how this deepened our friendships. Since then, my love for the Gospel and desire to share it has only deepened. I am so excited to serve on mission with FOCUS and lead college students to know a deep and personal relationship with the Lord, and to help them learn the joy of sharing it with their friends!
I am so excited to embark on this mission the Lord has called me to, but it would not be possible without the support of people like you! I am blessed to have the opportunity to rely on the financial and spiritual support of mission partners, so that together we can fulfill Jesus’s great commission to “make disciples of all nations.” (Matthew 28:19) It would be an honor to go on this mission with you! If you are interested, let me know the best way to reach you, and I’d be happy to share with you more about what this mission entails!
We encounter God in an intimate relationship through daily prayer, the sacraments and the Scriptures.
By building genuine friendships, we meet students on a deeper level.
We teach students how to share the gospel, who in turn teach other students how to pass it on.
