We encounter God in an intimate relationship through daily prayer, the sacraments and the Scriptures.
Hey there! My name’s McKenzi.
“Some give by going. Others go by giving. Without both, there are no missions.”
St. John Paul the Great
I have the amazing opportunity to serve Christ by being a FOCUS missionary at the University of Mary. I am excited to answer our daily call of being the hands and feet of Christ at this University.
I have grown up in a loving and devoted Catholic family. My parents have shaped the culture of my family around Christ’s teachings. As I established my own steps in college, I discovered that God wanted to invite me into a friendship. As my understanding of Christ was established through partaking in the Mass, I came to realize that the Lord wants us to accompany Him in our everyday life outside of the sacraments.
In Genesis 3:8-9 God came to take his evening walk with Adam and Eve, but they were hiding in shame. So he asked, Where are you? Even though he knew where they were and what sin they had committed. What I love about this story and many like this in the Bible is God will always invite us to accept His invitation into a deeper encounter with Him before He fully reveals Himself to us. He wants us to freely choose the gift of His friendship. The Lord was asking me Where are you? because He wants to be a more valuable person in my life than just a person I went to worship on Sunday. Since accepting that invitation, it has been a relationship of great reveals/discoveries, forgiveness, and invitations to sainthood. I want every person I meet to have a deeper friendship with Christ; to accept that invitation into a relationship with Christ beyond the sacraments so that the sacraments come more alive. Christ is patiently waiting for you to answer His invitation.
When I answered the call to join FOCUS, I made the decision to rely on the spiritual and financial support of mission partners to help me through this mission. I’ve been blessed with the most amazing people who have journeyed with me as I serve on campus. If you are interested in partnering with me, please let me know of the best way to reach you and I will schedule an appointment. I’d be honored to share this mission with you.

By building genuine friendships, we meet students on a deeper level.
We teach students how to share the gospel, who in turn teach other students how to pass it on.
