We encounter God in an intimate relationship through daily prayer, the sacraments and the Scriptures.
Hi! My name is Mikaela and I serve the mission of FOCUS in Mission Development!
I work remotely from Little Rock, Arkansas for the DSC!
I first encountered FOCUS during my time at the University of Minnesota Duluth through the Newman Center. By my junior year, I found myself searching for direction. I had an existing faith, but I lacked the tools and guidance to fully live out the Gospel. I knew about Christ—but I didn’t yet know how to walk with Him daily.
That’s when I met Stephanie, a new FOCUS missionary. Her decision to invest in me changed everything. Through her mentorship, I came to know Jesus Christ in a deeply personal way and began to understand what it meant to live His Great Commission.
After graduating, I spent a year in mission formation with Life Teen in North Georgia—where I also met my husband, Thomas! Later, after we moved to Little Rock and I became a stay-at-home mom with our firstborn, I found myself thinking about FOCUS again. I inquired about job opportunities and, in a beautiful full-circle moment, found myself called to serve this mission professionally.
I’m honored to support the work of FOCUS by managing projects in Mission Development. The framework of missionary discipleship that I received as a college student continues to shape how I live, parent, and serve. Let’s set the world on fire for Christ—and become who God made us to be!
We encounter God in an intimate relationship through daily prayer, the sacraments and the Scriptures.
By building genuine friendships, we meet students on a deeper level.
We teach students how to share the gospel, who in turn teach other students how to pass it on.
