God has called me to serve college students at Virginia Tech as a missionary. You’ll typically find me playing sports (spike ball, football, or basketball), hanging out at the Newman Center laughing, or eating. I have a pretty cool story about how Jesus has changed my life — I think you should hear it sometime! Come find me, and I’d love to share it with you.

In America, 80% of Catholics are no longer Catholic by the time they turn 23. This statistic depicts how modern culture plagues young Americans, leading them to fall for materialism, individualism, and selfishness, eventually resulting in poor mental health. That is why we need your prayers and support to help us be a beacon of hope by sowing the seeds of faith, hope, and charity for those students trying to form their identity in a disordered world.

I was almost one of those young Americans who fell into that statistic. Having attended a university like UW-Madison, I was surrounded by professors and students who embodied a culture of disorder. Like many students, I had fallen into the routine of weekly parties, rarely attending Mass on Sundays, and never praying. The lifestyle that was supposed to make me feel happy and satisfied only left me empty. It was not until a missionary had the courage to talk to me, understand me as a person, and welcome me with open arms to Christ that I found a deeper and truer meaning to life. That missionary was a FOCUS missionary.

I am now on fire with my faith and dream that every student may find the true meaning of life through God’s unconditional love for His sons and daughters. Through FOCUS, we are Christ’s boots on the ground, finding students and bringing them into the Church so they too can feel and understand God’s love. With your prayers and support, you will be actively participating in God’s mission. Your prayers and support will allow us to bring the Word and love to these students through mission trips, activities around campus, attendance at Seek 2024, and so much more.
