After two years at Boise State University and two years at the University of Nebraska – Kearney, I am excited to share that I am beginning my fourth year as a digital missionary! Digital missionaries get to serve the apostolate of FOCUS in a variety of ways, serving on special projects but also accompanying students, campuses, parishes, alumni, and international students to share the great commission across the entire world. This year, I will be serving Hofstra University and individual students across the nation. I will also be serving as a Program Director for the Digital Outreach department, being an initial point of contact for our team, handling tactical/organizational needs, and developing systems that allow our team to work fluently in order to fulfill the great commission.

Our lives were very carefully crafted by the Father to bring us to Him, to each other, and to FOCUS. Growing up, the Catholic faith was important to us, but not at the center of our lives. Going to college, we began to explore our faith more deeply through bible study, discipleship, and taking advantage of the opportunities our Newman Center had to offer us. After we began dating, both of us changed career paths within the year. Nicollette graduated with a double major in Psychology and Human Development and Family Sciences with the intent to go on to graduate school for counseling, while Alfred graduated with a major in Animal Biomedical Sciences with the intent to either attend medical or veterinary school. But as Nicollette’s senior year began, she felt a deep desire to answer the call of Christ to be a soldier for Him and to evangelize a world that was so far from the Lord’s heart. While serving during her first year, Alfred felt a similar call to answer the need of the Church and primarily the need of FOCUS to have more missionaries serving on a college campus. Serving as full-time missionaries during our first year of marriage was such an incredibly beautiful and fruitful experience. The blessings have continued to abound as we moved to Nebraska and welcomed our two daughters, Amalia Brooke (2021) and Ruth Faustina (2023) and are now back in Fargo where we welcomed Benedict Joseph Mary (2025).
