Hey! My name’s Paul. I’m a FOCUS missionary at Assumption University!

Where I serve

I will be serving at Assumption University in Worcester, Massachusetts! FOCUS is a Catholic Collegiate outreach program whose mission is to spread the hope and joy of the Gospel with college and university students. FOCUS is a vital and important aspect of how students can either encounter Christ or grow deeper in their relationship with Christ. In today s world there is need for missionaries to help and guide others to Christ, especially in universities and colleges where there can be much temptation and emphasis on materialistic aspects of life. Our goal is to help students discover that they matter and are loved by Jesus Christ and to be saved through the Gospel.

My Story

I came to be a FOCUS Missionary because I have a desire to be able to help other students know and feel they are loved by God through the Gospel the way FOCUS did for me my freshman year of college. During the beginning of my first year at Mount St. Mary s University, I struggled in trying to fit in and I yearned for a sense of belonging. The two missionaries at the time were the ones who reached out to me and brought me into the campus ministry at the Mount. They introduced me to the amazing people and friends that I will have for a lifetime. Throughout my four years, the missionaries have helped me grow deeper in my faith and relationship with Christ through Bible studies, discipleship groups and much more. FOCUS has helped me to fall deeper in love with Christ and I want to be able to share Christ s love with others. This mission is urgent right now due to isolation and loneliness that students are still feeling from the Covid lockdown. Students need a light in their life! In my life, a missionary has helped open that door for me and bring me closer to God. As a missionary, I will be reaching out to those students that have a longing to be loved through authentic friendship.

Your Impact

I will not be able to do this on my own. When I joined FOCUS, I opened myself to trust in God and others to support me financially and spiritually to be able to go out and serve others. I need your help to reach out to these students that long for God and I would be grateful and blessed if you would like to accompany me on this journey and mission.
