We encounter God in an intimate relationship through daily prayer, the sacraments and the Scriptures.
“You have made us for yourself, O Lord, and our hearts are restless until they rest in You.”
-St. Augustine
I serve at the University of Idaho! V’s UP!
I was born and raised Catholic. As a child, I participated joyfully in the sacraments. But as I grew older, I felt that God was distant. I saw Him more as a dictator in my life. As I entered my teenage years, I began to live two lives. I would act one way with my friends, and a different way at home with my parents. For me, it was all about blending in. I wanted my story to follow the way of the world. If I pretended to be fully bought in at home, I would not have any problems. If I pretended to enjoy the secular culture that I was surrounded by at school, I would have many friends. I continued to live this way, even into college. I began to pursue worldly pleasures and drift farther away from God. It wasn’t until a retreat at my university that I truly felt the Lord. I felt so distant from Him, but He reminded me that He is always with me. I began to slowly choose Him everyday. Afterwards, I went to a conference called Seek and saw Him truly present in the Eucharist. I wanted to tell everyone. A missionary began to walk with me and help me through this time. I finally realized that my faith could be something that I could share with others. At this time, I still did not have a deep relationship with Christ. The next year, I had an opportunity to live with another missionary and I took it. Through his friendship and example I was able to prioritize God at the top everyday. Through continued investment from FOCUS missionaries, I learned that God is always closer than I realize and I continue to learn this everyday. On campus, I want to pursue those individuals who are longing for the Lord. I desire to tell them the Real Story of how Jesus is longing for a relationship with every single one of us.
With your help, students can discover the Truth. The students on campus are relying on your “yes!” If you would like to partner with me on mission you can reach me at (208) 870-6679. My email is [email protected]. I look forward to connecting with you!

By building genuine friendships, we meet students on a deeper level.
We teach students how to share the gospel, who in turn teach other students how to pass it on.
