We encounter God in an intimate relationship through daily prayer, the sacraments and the Scriptures.
I am a first year missionary at Samford University as part of the UAB/Samford team in Birmingham, AL. As a Greek missionary, I will be walking specifically with Samford’s sorority women and helping them grow in their faith.
I was raised as a Catholic with two loving and faithful parents. Although I had a deep love for Christ, I often perceived my Catholic faith as a set of rules to avoid damnation, rather than a relationship to be pursued.
I entered college at Mississippi State University (MSU) during the COVID-19 pandemic, and consequently, I broke my habit of regularly attending Mass. My Catholic faith became a cultural badge to be worn, and I became a self-proclaimed “cafeteria Catholic” (picking and choosing which Catholic doctrine I subscribed to).
Sometime during my sophomore year, I met Alex, who was a FOCUS missionary at MSU. She invited me to attend her Bible study, and that encounter and relationship changed the trajectory of my life. A year after I started attending Bible study, I attended FOCUS’s SEEK conference, truly repented, and experienced the Lord’s mercy and love for the first time in years. This opened my eyes to the divine intimacy that we are all called to, though I still did not fully understand what that meant.
We are all called to pursue mission as part of Jesus’s Great Commission (Matthew 28:18-20). Pope Paul VI is quoted saying, “Evangelizing is in fact the grace and vocation proper to the Church, her deepest identity.”
While we are all called to mission, we are not all able to drop everything to preach the Gospel. With your financial support and your prayers, you are able to go on mission with me and participate in the Great Commission.
It is only because of your financial support and the grace of God that I am able to live mission in this radical way and bring Christ more fully to the lives of these women.
If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to me!

By building genuine friendships, we meet students on a deeper level.
We teach students how to share the gospel, who in turn teach other students how to pass it on.
