Hey! My name’s Rachel. I’m a FOCUS missionary.

Where I serve

The past four years I have had the privilege of serving as a missionary on campus at Southern Illinois University – Edwardsville and Iowa State University. God has called me back to serve with FOCUS for a 5th year but this time in a new role! I am transitioning to the Parish Outreach Team!

In 2024, Parish Outreach became an official apostolic effort and priority for FOCUS. We are convicted that the Lord will continue to use the efforts we have on campus and bless the avenue of spiritual multiplication through the Parishes. Amazing pastors are reaching out asking us to send missionaries to their parishes to labor alongside them in the vineyard. That is where my role comes in! I will be working directly with the Parish Recruitment Team to connect with missionaries both internally across the organization and externally through outreach and networking to make this possible! So much growth is ahead of us, Praise God!

My Story

My life has been transformed by Jesus and I want nothing more than to bring this joy to others and introduce them to the life-changing message of the Gospel. During college, I had a deeper conversion and fell in love with Jesus by encountering him through daily prayer and the sacraments. I never understood how relational our God is and it changed everything! The desires of the world started to fade and my love of Jesus and his church increased. In His ministry on earth, Jesus humbled Himself to meet us on our level, taking on our humanity, and spent most of His time investing deeply in a few. I am humbled that Jesus uses me as his instrument to draw souls to Himself. It has been the biggest gift to walk alongside side students on campus and now I am eager to see what the Lord will continue to do through Parish Outreach.
