Where I serve

I’m currently serving in my third year with FOCUS and second year with the Digital Outreach team! Working remote from Wisconsin, I provide formation and accompaniment to students who don’t have in-person FOCUS missionaries with them on campus. I’ve worked with college students from New York, Texas, Wyoming, California, and many places in between—it’s a joy for me to be able to offer myself to those students who feel most isolated as they try to live their faith in college. Due to this role, some of the first Catholic Bible studies, formation groups, and Catholic communities are have been brought to campuses where they never existed before!

My Story

I grew up Catholic in a small town of 4,000 in rural Wisconsin. Despite being a relatively faithful member of my Church and well performing student-athlete, I also was living a life contrary to the Gospel when I thought no authority figures were watching.

After going through a bit of a self-reckoning my senior year of high school, I found that living in right relationship with God gave me life rather than suppressed it. This realization changed me, inspiring me to really try to live my life for Jesus rather than myself. Soon after, I came to the University of Kansas as a freshman and was immediately received by a FOCUS missionary. Through his investment and much grace, I began to cultivate a more robust daily prayer life, attend Mass daily rather than weekly, and assent to Jesus’ call to Go, therefore, and make disciples of all nations by leading Bible studies and leading my fellow students to deeper relationship with Him (Mt 28:19).

Having experienced the abundant life Jesus has given me through placing Him at the center of my life, I sincerely desire to help others do the same.

Your Impact

Being a full-time missionary means that I put all my professional time and energy into the souls that I am sent to—it’s not a side hustle! Because of this, I rely on the generosity of mission partners to financially support myself, my beautiful wife, Mikala and our children, Bennett and Elaine, as I pray for, form, and accompany the souls of God’s children on the college campus. Without the profound generosity of my mission partners, none of my work is possible!
