Where I serve

Hi! My name is Becca, and I am a second year missionary at PenWest Edinboro in Edinboro, PA! I was blessed to serve my first year at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and now I am so excited to take what I have learned there to share the Gospel and reach souls in Edinboro!

My Story

As a missionary, I deeply desire to show students the freedom and joy that is found in Christ Jesus. When I was in college at the University of Maryland, life was pulling me in all sorts of directions and I was searching for love and acceptance in all of those places at the same time. If that sounds exhausting, I promise you it was! The truth was that I was tired, sad, and lonely, even though I was surrounded by so many people and seemed to be doing fine to most of my friends. A huge turning point for me was when a friend who was a FOCUS missionary asked me if I wanted to keep living the way I was living, or if I wanted to center my life on Christ. This encounter and the deeper faith journey that followed led me to deeply encounter Christ as a friend, and to meet so many wonderful people who love me for who I am rather than what I can give them. Just as that missionary walked with me, my hope this year is to help students grow in their relationships with God, and to help them enter into true, life giving friendships.

When I answered the call to join FOCUS, I made the decision to rely on the spiritual and financial support of mission partners to help me through this mission. It is solely through the generosity of my mission partners that I will be able to serve students on campus, and I would be honored for you to join with me as I embark on this journey to serve souls!
