Since I am graduating college this December, I will be a missionary at the school that I attend, Mississippi State University. Hail State!! This means I will be a student and a missionary simultaneously this Fall semester. After I graduate, I will be sent to another college campus in the United States to serve as a full-time missionary there!

My college experience was a unique one! I was raised Catholic by my wonderful mother and came to college wanting to pursue my faith, but I was much too afraid to do so. I thought that if I radically pursued the Lord, I would be the only one. This meant succumbing to societal norms and living the “college lifestyle”. However, I was more empty inside than I had ever been. All of freshman year I struggled, and it was a FOCUS missionary who loved me that year when I did not think I was lovable.

My missionary invited me to a FOCUS conference, SEEK 2023, where I saw, for the first time, people my age who were alive in their faith and pursuing a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. At this conference the Lord showed me, in prayer, how he had been pursuing me my whole life, through all the joy and the suffering. I came back to Mississippi State and, because of my missionary’s wonderful example, I began to pray daily, lead a bible study, and attend daily mass. From then on I knew my only mission in life was to become a saint, and show other women how God has changed my life!

When I answered the call to join FOCUS, I made the decision to rely on the spiritual and financial support of mission partners to aid me on mission. Though not everyone is called to leave their homes to serve people in foreign lands, we are all called to be on mission in some way! It is through the generosity of faithful Mission Partners that this mission is possible.
