We encounter God in an intimate relationship through daily prayer, the sacraments and the Scriptures.
“Let us do our part, and God will then do what He wills. This is God’s cause, and all will end well. My hope is in Him; do not be distressed.“
St. Teresa of Ávila
I have been blessed with this opportunity to serve at the Denver Support Center as their Donor Communications Manger. I work with a team of incredible individuals committed to the care of our faithful missionaries and our generous donors. I work daily to help in creating solutions to many of the challenges that our missionaries and donors face daily.
I grew up not knowing God, I was born and raised with a disposition in rejecting Jesus as the Christ and specifically, anti-Catholic. Consequently, I believed the same thing. However, that did not stop God in reaching me over a decade ago. Through years of depression, anxiety, and anger clouding my worldview, Jesus still sought me out and He invited me to seek Him.
“My sheep hear my voice. I know them, and they follow me.”
John 10:27
It wasn’t until I was baptized in 2022 that I still felt I wasn’t quite home yet, though I was closer than I was. I began to turn to Catholic apologetics where I found that the truth I was looking for was divinely preserved in the Catholic Church. I started RCIA in September of 2023. I remember walking into the Cathedral Basilica of the Immaculate Conception in Denver on the feast day of Our Lady of Guadalupe that same year, this was the first time I had attended a Mass at the Cathedral. It felt like watching a movie. The Cathedral felt like home. Through prayer and contemplation I began to seek God more intimately. I was inspired to start a devotion to daily Mass before I had been confirmed. In February of 2024 I was graciously confirmed into the Catholic Church. I found my home. More importantly, Jesus found me.
“he cried out, ‘Lord save me!’ Jesus immediately reached out his hands and caught him, saying to him, ‘You of little faith, why did you doubt?’“
Matthew 14: 30-31
You are the reason this mission at FOCUS is possible.
Through this mission, our missionaries meet souls in one of the most influential times, during college, to encounter Christ. Loving one another on this pilgrimage on earth is foundational in helping Christ reach the souls that need Him most. We see this beautifully explained in holy Scripture;
” And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near “
Hebrews 10: 24-25
You are invited to this partnership to engage in the Great Commission.
I’m inviting you into being a partner on this mission with me. I encourage you to take prayerful action towards fulfilling this amazing call to the mission of Christ.
We encounter God in an intimate relationship through daily prayer, the sacraments and the Scriptures.
By building genuine friendships, we meet students on a deeper level.
We teach students how to share the gospel, who in turn teach other students how to pass it on.
