What if you said yes?

Where I serve

I will be serving my second year on mission at Wayne State College campus in Wayne, Nebraska. Go Wildcats! I am thrilled to be returning to campus this year and getting to continue what I set forth last year! Because Wayne is one of the smallest towns FOCUS has a presence in, I have been able to form deep and intimate relationships with the students and the community in Wayne, and I cannot wait to continue to bring the love of Jesus to Wayne through authentic friendship and love! I am excited to encounter students and be a guide in their journey of faith and walk toward eternity!

My Story

I graduated from the University of North Dakota with a degree in Medical Laboratory Science with an emphasis in Pre-Medicine in May 2023 but this is only what my college degree has shown. What I left with was a renewed heart convicted to bring the love of Christ to others.

I entered my time in college quietly and was quickly introduced to the community at the Newman Center on campus. I was shy, quiet, and reluctant to make any friends, yet I desired deep and authentic friendship in this community of like-minded and charismatic people. I was continuously sought out by the FOCUS Missionaries and other students there, and although I declined many invites, I am glad they never gave up on me.

I was invited to a FOCUS conference in 2020 where I encountered so many other students on fire for the Lord, through their example, I desired a deeper relationship with God just as they had. My relationship with the Lord was superficial, dry, and unfortunately one-way I knew that had to change. The truth I discovered at this conference was that my faith journey was not meant to be a walk alone, I needed authentic friendships with people at the Newman Center: I needed to say yes

“What would happen if you just said yes?”

Over the years, my friendships with missionaries and other students at the Newman Center grew, and so did my friendship with God. The Lord was constantly pursuing my heart, my love, but I never said yes. The more I began to let my fears go and say yes to different opportunities with my friends at the Newman Center, the more I began to say yes to the Lord in so many ways. My heart was opened to such a Divine Intimacy with the Lord, I could not help but rejoice in His goodness to others!

This divine love we receive is not secret, but it’s easily hidden in the shadows of our hearts and minds. My once-quiet soul is now filled with colorful zeal to unveil this hidden love to others!

John 6:9

“There is a boy here who has five barley loaves and two fish; but what good are these for so many?”

The Lord called me to mission through John 6, The Multiplication of the Loaves. Out of the thousands of people gathered to see Jesus, he chose a young person, took his five loaves and two fish, and made sure thousands had more than their fill to eat. Here was this little boy, who only had a small gift, but Jesus accepted his gift and performed a miracle. I was lost in what the Lord desired for my life, but “he himself knew what he was going to do.” The Lord asked me to take the risk and let him use my little gifts and give the living bread to others.

Lord, can you take my simple gifts and do wondrous things with them?… Even if things don’t work out as I plan, I trust that you know better than I do. Amen.

Your Impact

When I said yes to FOCUS, I made the decision to rely on the spiritual and financial support of mission partners to walk with me on mission. Thank you for your consideration of joining me! It is through the kindness and generosity of YOU that I may fully enter into the lives of students on campus and walk with them on their path to discover purpose and unveil their hearts to the love of God!

I would be so honored to share my mission with you! If you are interested in partnering with me please feel free to reach out to me- call, text, or email ([email protected] – 701.426.8765). I could not do this without you!
