Hey! My name’s Shannon. I’m a FOCUS missionary.

Where I serve

Hello! I’m excited to be serving my sixth year with FOCUS as a Missions Specialist at the Denver Support Center. Before stepping into this role, I spent two years serving at Clemson University in South Carolina (go tigers!) and three years in Nashville, Tennessee, where I served at Vanderbilt and Belmont University as a Team Director. I am honored to continue serving the mission of making disciples of all nations by supporting the missionaries, students, and communities around the world who are sharing the love of Christ.

My Story

I grew up in England and lived there until I began college at the University of Virginia in Charlottesville, VA. WAHOO-WA! It was during my time at UVA that I came to know and fall in love with the person of Jesus Christ in a deeper way. Through an encounter with the Lord in the sacrament of Confession, I came to see that I am deeply loved by a merciful Father who desires a personal relationship with me.

This encounter has shaped my desire to accompany college students and help them discover that they are known, desired, and loved by the Lord. Throughout my time in college and as a missionary, I have had the opportunity to participate in several domestic and international mission trips. Through these experiences, the Lord has continued to teach me that mission is not ultimately about what I can accomplish for Him on my own, but about allowing Him to work through me.

I have learned that the places where I feel weakest and most in need of conversion are often the very places where the Lord desires to move most powerfully. Mission has shown me that it is not my perfection that brings others to Christ, but my willingness to surrender and allow Him to work through my life. I would love for you to join me in this mission as we work together to bring the hope and love of Christ to the whole world.
