I serve at the University of Central Oklahoma, go Cho’s! I could not be more excited to run towards Heaven with my team and the student athletes I’ll be working with!
My name is Sofia Felicetta, and I will be God’s mouthpiece to a college campus starting in the fall of 2024. I was born in New Jersey but spent most of my childhood in sunny North Carolina. I have so many wonderful memories of biking to my friends’ houses, swimming in our pond, and helping to raise my two little nephews in North Carolina. I went to Catholic school my entire life until public high school, and this is where my Catholic faith was really put to the test. I questioned so much about my faith during that time, but ultimately found it to be true. I started the youth group in my home parish and helped to bring hundreds of teens back to Mass. I was recruited to play soccer for Belmont Abbey College, and it was there that my faith skyrocketed. I had the most wonderful community around me and the best missionaries who were constantly guiding me. I graduated in three years with a double major in Business Administration and Psychology. After graduation, I accepted a marketing position at TAN Books, one of the most prominent Catholic publishing companies. It was through this gap year as a single lay person in the work force that I truly saw the poverty college students will face after they leave school. I was deeply convicted in my heart that I needed to give the same gift of community to another young woman that my missionaries in college gave to me. I was accepted to be a FOCUS missionary, and I could not be more ready to get placed on a campus!
As a freshman on a collegiate soccer team, talking about my faith was the most terrifying concept. As the weeks went on, I began to practice a new strategy. Each week, I would intentionally pray for one of my teammates. About halfway through the week, I would invite that woman to walk with me to practice. Conveniently, I would ask her to meet me outside of my dorm, which just so happened to be in front of our campus Adoration chapel. When she walked up to me, I would ask, “So, would you like to go in for a minute?”
On one of those occasions, my friend came out teary-eyed and said, “What if I had gone to this Catholic college for four years and no one asked me to go pray with them? No one has ever asked me to pray with them before…” That same woman started to go through RCIA and was confirmed in the Catholic Church on Easter.
Something in my heart started to click. I have a mission to live out on this very short time on Earth. “Christ has no hands but yours” , said St. Teresa of Avila. As a cradle Catholic, I had lived most of my faith very privately. I went to Catholic school my entire life and worked hard to memorize the mysteries of the Rosary and various Bible stories. But, it wasn’t until my FOCUS missionaries in college helped me to understand that a relationship with Christ is something much more intimate that I started to live out my faith more intentionally.
There is a drastic poverty on our college campuses in America. The age range of 18-22 is perhaps the most vulnerable to identity crisis and isolation. I need your support financially to send me out into the battlegrounds and fight for the next generation of Catholics. With your support, I will be able to intentionally invest in hundreds of women’s lives and provide a safe place for them to encounter Christ’s love.
There will come a day when we all will pass away from this Earth and God will ask us “What did you do to fulfill the Great Commission?” and I want you to hand Him my business card.
You are not only financially supporting me to go out on mission to a college campus, but you are using your provisions to further the Gospel. “For where your treasure is, your heart will be also.” Matthew 6:19
When I answered the call to join FOCUS, I made the decision to rely on the spiritual and financial support of mission partners to help me live out this mission. I’d be honored to share this mission with you. My information is below, and I would love to schedule an appointment with you!

We encounter God in an intimate relationship through daily prayer, the sacraments and the Scriptures.
By building genuine friendships, we meet students on a deeper level.
We teach students how to share the gospel, who in turn teach other students how to pass it on.
