This year, I will be serving with my first year as a missionary at Northern Arizona University! Go LumberJacks!
My journey toward becoming a FOCUS missionary started back at O’Gorman High School. Though I attended a Catholic school, faith was not something that was very personal to me. That is, until I attended a retreat through our school, and met the Lord in a more intimate way than I knew could be true.
As I attended the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, I encountered the college culture and struggled to see how faith played a role in this new stage in my life. In my first year at UNL, I was realizing that the life I was living left me unfulfilled. I met a FOCUS missionary at the beginning of the year, and she felt like the perfect person to call! I remember telling her my desire for more and my desire for a real relationship with God.
After this, she began to walk with me. I started to pray each day, go to bible study, attend and help at retreats, and eventually I started leading a bible study in my Greek house on campus. I encountered the Lord’s love through each of these things, but most importantly through the Sacraments and my community!
FOCUS missionaries showed me what it meant to live a Christ-centered life. The Lord has called me onto this mission to give back and show others that encountering the Lord’s love is possible for them too!
When I answered the call to join FOCUS, I made the decision to rely on the spiritual and financial support of mission partners to help me through this mission. I’ve been blessed with the most amazing people who have journeyed with me as I serve on campus. If you are interested in partnering with me, please let me know the best way to reach you and I will schedule an appointment. I’d be honored to share this mission with you!
