We encounter God in an intimate relationship through daily prayer, the sacraments and the Scriptures.
Hi there! I’m Therese, and I’m a second year missionary. It’s a joy to love and serve Christ through FOCUS.
I’m serving my second year at Missouri Science and Technology!
Throughout college, I was living my Catholic faith with my heart entirely out of the equation. I was going through the motions of going to Sunday Mass and forcing myself to the Newman Center events, but I soon found myself burnt out because of my unwillingness to surrender everything to Christ. By the fall semester of my junior year, I had given up the idea that peace was possible in my life and I desperately begged God to help me. At the end of myself, I reached out to my friend and FOCUS missionary Emily, who sat down with me and challenged me to give my life to Jesus. Through the struggle, I committed to daily Mass and prayer, intentional meetups with Emily, and a radical change in how I was living.
I gained the peace I was searching for and I started to rebuild my life around the truth of His faithfulness. So many college students find themselves lacking silence and joy in a culture that prioritizes production, comparison, and pleasure. It has been such an amazing adventure to live this “little way” for Jesus and I’m excited to walk by students through the struggles and the triumphs of the Catholic life.
As a FOCUS missionary, I have the unique opportunity to rely on the spiritual and financial support of mission partners who help me to be fully on mission. If you are interested in joining me in my mission to the students of Rolla, Missouri, and the sharing of the Gospel, please let me know and I would love to schedule an appointment with you– I’d be thrilled to share more with you and to have you join me!

By building genuine friendships, we meet students on a deeper level.
We teach students how to share the gospel, who in turn teach other students how to pass it on.
