We encounter God in an intimate relationship through daily prayer, the sacraments and the Scriptures.
“Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.” -Matthew 6:34
This will be my first year as a FOCUS Missionary, and I will serve at Lehigh University in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania.
When I first went to Mount Saint Mary’s University, I did not plan on growing my faith life too much. My plan was to focus on swimming. God did not listen to my plan and had plans of his own. Those plans involved me meeting the FOCUS missionaries on campus. I entered discipleship with a FOCUS Missionary my freshmen year and I slowly started taking my faith more seriously.
Discipleship formed me a great deal and had me asking the right questions. Things like ‘Who am I? What is my purpose? How can I best serve others?’ These questions led me to attending SEEK22. While I was there it clicked in my head that God was the answer. From that moment I really started trying to form a real relationship with the Lord. I started taking my faith more seriously and I began to see my life change because of it. New Friendships were formed, new activities were started, and new plans were made.
I went running into my junior year and ended up quitting swimming after God gave me a clear signal. Even though I did not understand Him at the time, He brought a lot of graces and fruit because of that decision. My junior year was a huge year of growth for me, but it was advice from two friends at the end of the year that really changed my life plans. They told me to open my heart to the Lord and to FOCUS. To not dismiss it from the beginning. I did just that and God called me to serve him through FOCUS.
When I went to college this was not what I expected to do afterwards. God works in mysterious ways, but I know that if I trust in him and continue to say yes to Him everything will be okay.
I’ve said yes to following Jesus Christ in a radical way by being a full-time missionary! Part of this yes is asking for the spiritual and financial support of mission partners to sponsor me. If this mission inspires you in any way, I want to talk to you!

We encounter God in an intimate relationship through daily prayer, the sacraments and the Scriptures.
By building genuine friendships, we meet students on a deeper level.
We teach students how to share the gospel, who in turn teach other students how to pass it on.
