Where We serve

The Lord has invited us to trust in His plan over the years. After leaving behind the corporate world, we served our first two years as FOCUS Missionaries at Black Hills State University in Spearfish, SD. For our third year on staff, we served in Europe at the University of Vienna, Austria. Now entering into our fourth year, we are excited to serve as the Parish Team Director at Sts. Anne & Joachim Catholic Church in Fargo, ND.

Our Story

My life was changed forever by Jesus through a FOCUS Missionary at Minnesota State University, Mankato. I was a “good guy” but missing the authentic joy that comes from living a life with Christ. After college I ignored the missionary zeal Jesus placed on my heart and clung to my own plan for my life instead. Life was great and comfortable, but through prayer the Lord kept calling me to something more. I finally surrendered to the Lord’s invitation tugging on my heart, and my wife and I said yes to serving for FOCUS after working nearly four years as a CPA.

As missionaries our greatest desire is to lead students to Christ. Our lives have been transformed by Jesus, and we want nothing more than to bring this joy to others and introduce them to the life-changing message of the Gospel. In His ministry on earth, Jesus humbled Himself to meet us face-to-face, taking on our humanity, and spending most of His time investing deeply in a few. We look to Jesus’ own example to find the best method of reaching the world.

We stepped away from the comfort of a corporate salary and answered the call to join FOCUS full-time. This required the faith-filled decision to fully rely on the spiritual and financial support of our mission partners.
