Where I serve

God has called me to serve a 2nd year at Colorado State in Fort Collins, CO! LET’S GO RAMS!

Modeled after Christ’s work with his apostles, as missionaries we strive to encounter many on campus and invest deeply in a few. We invest in students not just to form disciples of Jesus, or even missionary disciples, but to form missionary disciplemakers    men and women who’s lives have been transformed by Christ, will spread the gospel message of joy, and then teach and form others how to do the same. This results in a true multiplication of efforts, bringing life to many by sending only a few.

My Story

For most of my life, I kept God in a box.

Going into college at Ave Maria University in FL, my head knew a lot of doctrine, but my heart did not know Jesus.

In fact, my heart mostly knew things about Jesus which were false!

And I was faithful out of a prideful duty and scared of God deep down.

Freshman year at a retreat led by FOCUS, I was invited to take God out of that box and to let him into my life more fully… and I was blown away. God began the conversion of my heart and initiated a new, personal relationship with me.

A new heart I will give you, and a new spirit I will put within you.” (Ezek 36:26)

My Junior and Senior years I spent my summers in the Colorado Rockies working full time along 100 students from across the country, receiving personal and faith formation from FOCUS and living the gospel through a program called Summer Projects. After graduating, I was invited to apply to become a missionary… and turned down the offer.

After working as a teacher and in sales/account management for 3 years, I took up the call to mission. My plans were to seek financial freedom on my own terms with the long term goal for mission…doing mission later. When I had opportunities promising everything I thought I wanted in front of me, I realized they were not what I truly desired. Thankfully that realization came while taking up a challenge from FOCUS’ SEEK conference to read the Gospels daily.

Through reading the Gospel of Matthew, God showed me He desires to be my security and that my life is better off on his terms: “do not be anxious, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ For the Gentiles seek all these things. But seek the kingdom first and all these things will be added unto you.” (Matt. 6:31-33)

Your Impact

The world is broken and struggling. People are looking everywhere for a solution to fill our emptiness. College students are left deeply vulnerable with destructive options to fill the void, and they desperately need authentic friendships, community, and purpose. FOCUS’ work places us in the thick of the culture to encounter students and meet them in these dark places.

As a missionary, I’ve chosen to completely rely on the spiritual and financial support of mission partners. This allows us to reach as many campuses as possible rapidly, and to fulfill Christ’s Great Commission to “make disciples of all nations” together.

If you are interested in supporting my mission or would like to meet, please get in contact with me via phone/email and I’d be happy to setup time to talk!
