I’m thrilled to begin my first year serving at the University of Toledo in the great state of Ohio. GO ROCKETS!!! I’m looking forward to outreaching to the athletes at Toledo as part of Varsity Catholic so look for me anywhere from praying at the Newman Center to supporting students in the stands for some MACtion and even heading to the rec center to befriend some students with a game of pickup.

When COVID hit campus at Washington University in St. Louis I was devastated. My football season was cancelled and I was sent to live by myself in a hotel room without so much as a kitchen for two semesters. This time alone led me to realize how shallow my life had become in many ways. Through the grace of Jesus Christ I started going to daily Mass at the beautiful Cathedral Basilica in St. Louis and found the life and meaning which I was missing in so many other facets of my life. My story to FOCUS on the other hand, is a much more unique one. Once I began to take my faith seriously I knew I needed to take the call to mission seriously, as I was filling out applications for jobs in the future I stumbled upon a Instagram post from FOCUS about missionary applications. Once I had spent a weekend with FOCUS missionaries and students, meeting some of the kindest people I had ever met, and learning about their mission I knew I wanted to be a part of it.

When I decided to join FOCUS I knew that I was going to need to rely on the support of others to be able to fully dedicate myself to this mission. While modern culture looks down upon this kind of support raising I knew that it would be a great avenue to humble myself and give all of the control to Christ.
