I’ve had the privilege of serving as an on campus missionary at the University of Colorado, the University of Illinois and the University of Wisconsin. For 6 years I oversaw over 30 different missionary teams at schools in Iowa, Michigan, Wisconsin, Indiana, Colorado and Illinois. Currently I am honored to lead our FOCUS alumni team where we continue to fan the flame of faith in the hearts of our alumni and encourage and support them to be missionary disciples in the world.

It was in college at Colorado State University that I first got involved with FOCUS. After meeting some missionaries I quickly became friends with them and began to really grow in my faith. I soon realized that I desired to not just make Jesus Christ one part of my life, but rather the center of my entire life.

I knew I wanted to join FOCUS staff after graduation and served for two years at the University of Colorado. I then left staff for two years and worked as a mechanical engineer. During this time it became even more clear that the Catholic Church was in desperate need of young adults living authentic Catholic lives. I could not ignore the yearning on my heart to be a part of the new evangelization and felt God was again calling me to serve with FOCUS. During these two years away from missionary life I met Grace and eventually asked her to marry me.

My wife Grace and I were married on August 11th, 2012.  We have 4 children, Maryella, Margaret, Kateri and James.  They are a constant reminder to me of how I desire to change our culture for Christ and how college students, our future leaders, are our greatest hope to do just that.  Animated by the Holy Spirit my life goal is to become a saint and to play an integral role in raising up other saints who will transform our world for Christ and His Church.    

When I said yes to being a FOCUS missionary, I also said yes to relying on the spiritual and financial assistance of many generous individuals and families. It is continually humbling to be able to receive just that from so many people who share my same enthusiasm for sharing the Gospel message on campus.
