We encounter God in an intimate relationship through daily prayer, the sacraments and the Scriptures.
“Woman, why are you weeping? Whom do you seek?” – John 20:15
Who is it that you are seeking?
I am a part-time missionary finishing out my last semester at Missouri University of Science and Technology. I will graduate in December of 2024 and be on another college campus in January… only this time I will not be taking classes!
When I came to college, I quickly put my all into my studies and other extracurriculars. However, I found myself dissatisfied with the way I was living. I had put my heart into pursuing things that would never be able to fulfill me. This was about the same time I met a FOCUS missionary, and she too recognized that I wasn’t feeling fulfilled and didn’t know how to fix my problem. The good news is, I actually wasn’t the one who was capable of fixing that problem! It was Jesus; and when I truly let Him into my heart and began inviting Him into every part of my life, my world was changed forever. Through my friendship with her, I realized I wanted to start living my life completely for the Lord. Although it took a long time for me to realize what giving my entire life to the Lord looked like, FOCUS provided me with friends who were there for me as I figured that out and are continuing to walk with me even today.
College students everywhere are attacked constantly with the lie that their worth comes from what they can (or can’t) achieve: academic, athletic, or career achievements. The truth of the Gospel is that our worth comes from our identity as sons and daughters of God the Father.
College students are taught that they must makes themselves happy. The truth of the Gospel is that a relationship with Jesus Christ is they only thing that can bring them true happiness.
College students are told that a life lived with God is boring. The truth of the Gospel is that a live lived for and with God is what we were created for; it is the only thing that can satisfy that ache we all have in our hearts for something more.
Daily, Jesus reminds me how much he desires my whole heart. I am so thankful for the opportunity to work with FOCUS and share with other college students how deeply the Lord desires to be in relationship with them as well.
When I answered the call to join FOCUS, I made the decision to rely on the spiritual and financial support of mission partners. As Christians, we are all called to spread the good news of the gospel, and God has blessed me with an incredible opportunity to invite others into this mission with me. I get to share my mission with those whose hearts desire to go on mission and reach the whole world. If you are interested in joining me in this mission, please let me know the best way I can reach you. I would be honored to schedule an appointment and share more!

By building genuine friendships, we meet students on a deeper level.
We teach students how to share the gospel, who in turn teach other students how to pass it on.
