Xaverine Celia Moneboulou Mbazoa

Hello everyone, I’m Celia. I’m a FOCUS missionary!

” He shall grow like the lily, and Lengthen his roots like Lebanon; Hosea14;5″

Where I serve

After serving on the campus Auraria in Denver Colorado; and at Idaho State University in Pocatello my first year; God has now called me to serve at University of Idaho in Moscow my second year.

My Story

I was born and raised in Cameroon(central Africa) and was baptized catholic but raised half Catholic and half Protestant. I was a Sunday Catholic, went to Sunday’s mass, and considered my role fulfilled. After high school, I took a gap year and the Lord decided to use that year to give me a glimpse of the beauty of his love through a catholic community back in Cameroon that ministered to the sick.

Before I knew it, I realized I wanted and needed more. Yet, I had to move away to the United States for college alone and away from everyone. That made me realize how hard it was to stay Faithful without a community. In trying to deepen my relationship with the Lord and to encounter and share more of his love. I went in search of a catholic community at my university. To my greatest dismay, I could not find any community established. Even though we did not have an established community; we were blessed with daily mass on campus said by different priests who would come from other parishes. Going to mass and praying soon felt like an obligation instead of a grace for me; I felt that I was falling away from my faith and starting to follow the way of the world trying to find community somewhere else.

My Junior year of college; the Lord granted me the grace to meet a missionary with whom I did bible study towards the end of the semester. Though the bible study did not last long, it soon became the highlight of my week. The missionary convinced me to go to seek and the Lord granted me the grace of finding community with whom I could pursue holiness and grow in virtue. From then, I realized had I had all of these at the beginning of my college journey, it would have been so much easier to be a faithful catholic who wants to pursue Christ. Coming back from SEEK; the friends I had made on the journey and I started building women’s ministry at our new Newman center with the help of the priest and the focus missionaries. As I grew to love Christ more and more through virtues friendship; I wonder what would happen if no one had to follow the way of the world? All it took was a yes of a missionary to turn my eyes back to the love of God. As such, I said yes to allow my self guided by the Holy Spirit to share the Love that Christ has given me with others on College campuses. By Gods grace, prevent students( especially international students far from family)IMG 6750 from going through the difficulties I have lived whom sent me further away from Christ.

Your Impact

When I answered the call to join FOCUS, I made the decision to rely on the spiritual and financial support of mission partners to help me through this mission. I’ve been blessed with the most amazing people who have journeyed with me as I serve on campus. Christ did it fist by suffering for you, he loves you and gave His life for you; all that love needs to be shared across campuses. If you are interested in partnering with me, please let me know of the best way to reach you and I will schedule an appointment. I’d be honored to share this mission with you.
