I am a December graduate missionary at the Aureria campus In Denver. This campuses serves University of Colorado Denver, Metro State University, and the Community College of Denver.
I was born and raised in Cameroon(central Africa) and baptized catholic though I came from a family in, which half of it were Catholic and the other half Protestant. I was would I would call a Sunday catholic, went to mass on Sundays and I considered my role fulfilled. After high school, I took a gap year to have some working experience and the Lord decided to use that year to give me a glimpse of the beauty of his love through a catholic community back in Cameroon who ministered the sick.
Before I knew it I realized I wanted and needed more. Yet, I had to move away to the United States for college. In trying to pursue a deeper relationship with the Lord and to encounter and share more of his love, the first thing I did when I got to campus was to try and find a community and a catholic presence. To my greatest dismay, I could not find any community. Soon I felt that I was falling away from my faith and starting to follow the way of the word.
Just as the Lord granted me the grace to meet a missionary with whom I did bible study towards the end of the semester. Though the bible study did not last long, it soon became the highlight of my week. The missionary convinced me to go to seek and the Lord granted me the grace of finding community with whom I could pursue holiness and grow in virtue. From then, I realized had I had all of these at the beginning of my college journey, it would have been so much easier to be a faithful catholic who wants to pursue Christ. Everyday I grew to love Christ and his sons and daughters. So I wonder what would happen if no one had to follow the way of the word? All it took was a yes of a missionary to turn my eyes back to the love of God. As such, I said yes to allow my self guided by the Holy Spirit to share the Love that Christ has given me. By Gods grace, prevent students from going through the difficulties I have lived whom sent me further from Christ.
When I answered the call to join FOCUS, I made the decision to rely on the spiritual and financial support of mission partners to help me through this mission. I’ve been blessed with the most amazing people who have journeyed with me as I serve on campus. Christ did it fist by suffering for you, he loves you and gave His life for you; all that love needs to be shared across campuses. If you are interested in partnering with me, please let me know of the best way to reach you and I will schedule an appointment. I’d be honored to share this mission with you.
